About This Acquisition

Wolf Kahn (1927–2020) was a German-born American artist celebrated for landscapes that blend observed nature with the expressive freedom of abstraction. Working in oil and pastel, he developed a distinctive approach to color and light over a career spanning seven decades.

This pastel depicts a wooded shoreline beneath a softly worked sky, with dark greens and blues set against pale, luminous passages of water. Buildings and a slender spire emerge among the trees, lending a quiet sense of place to the composition.

If you have a painting, drawing, or other fine art you are considering selling, we would be pleased to speak with you.
